ซะงั้น
I'm not sure if this is slang or what.. but I've had friends say it and then try to explain but I still have no idea what it means nor where/how to use it.
Anyone?

It would appear from perusing the thai language only thai dominated forums (Sanook, DekD, Pantip) that you're not the only one who wants to know what this term meanz.. 
This is about the best answer I could find that seems to match with how I had thaiz explain it to me
ซะงั้น - คำอุทานเชิงไม่ได้ดั่งใจเอาเสียเลย
ตัวอย่างประโยค: ให้ทำอย่างหนึ่ง ไปทำอีกอย่างเสียอย่างนั้น พูดเป็น ไปทำนั่นซะงั้น ให้ทำนี่! นี่! เป็นต้น
คำอุทานเชิงปลงตกหรือไม่มีความเห็นเชิงบวก
ตัวอย่างประโยค: "เมื่อวานว่าจะไปซื้อหนังสือ แต่เดินผ่านร้านรองเท้า เลยซื้อรองเท้าซะก่อน ไม่ได้ซื้อหนังสือ" "ซะงั้น"
